Academy Sgt. Major Bob Smith 198?-1984.
Old School, Tough with a sick sense of humor.
Memories: One day after lunch during recruit period 1983 the Sgt. Major asked for volunteers to help the maintenance staff off campus with some light work. Wanting to get out of our studies many of us willingly volunteered for the job. Ten minutes later we were marched down the road, handed a shovel and told. “Their is a broken water pipe between the Mess Hall and Fitzgibbon Hall and its three feet underground. FIND IT!” 12 boys, and 6 hours later we found it but the hill side looked like a WW1 trench network. Learned my lesson about volunteering.
